The Mission Hills High School percussion section holds an integral role in the overall music department. Percussion takes part in the marching band, indoor percussion, and concert percussion ensembles throughout the full school year. It is mainly comprised of battery instruments (snare drum, bass drum, etc.), mallet instruments (marimba, xylophone, etc.), as well as many other auxiliary instruments (triangle, tambourine, etc.).
The indoor percussion ensemble earned a bronze medal in 2015 and a gold medal (undefeated) during the 2016 season, both years competing in the American Drumline Association (ADLA) competitive circuit. Currently, the ensemble competes in both the SCPA and WGI circuits.
Students interested in joining should contact band director, Josh Hall (firstname.lastname@example.org)
