THE MUSIC PROGRAM

The Mission Hills Instrumental Music Program is a comprehensive, student-centered music program at Mission Hills High School in San Marcos, California, supported by the Mission Hills Cardinal Alliance Parent Organization (CAPO).
Together, we are dedicated to advancing excellence in music education while creating meaningful opportunities for student growth, leadership, and connection.
In addition to our performance ensembles, the program offers impactful, student-driven initiatives such as United Sound, which fosters inclusion by pairing student mentors with peers with special needs, and the Tri-M Music Honor Society, which recognizes students for their academic achievement, leadership, and service. These programs reflect our commitment to building not only skilled musicians, but also compassionate and engaged community members.
Students participate in field shows, concerts, competitions, and community events, developing discipline, collaboration, and confidence along the way. Beyond performance, the music program emphasizes creativity, teamwork, and personal growth, helping students build skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
