I have questions about my volunteer shift. Who do I contact?
Volunteer questions can be directed to our Volunteer Coordinator at
capovolunteer@gmail.com
Can I chaperone for competitions? What does chaperoning involve?
Yes, we need chaperones for every competition! Chaperoning requires a Level A Volunteer Clearance through the San Marcos Unified School District. For more information on the clearance process, follow this link: https://www.smusd.org/144243_3
Chaperones arrive after the student call time, usually during the equipment loading timeframe. Chaperones follow the Directors’ instructions, and there is usually a director or staff member on each bus. Chaperones supervise during equipment unloading, are available to assist students as needed, and help move Front Ensemble equipment to the competition field.
What other volunteer opportunities are there?
There are a variety of ways to volunteer and help the Music program! We depend on volunteers to help our program run smoothly, all year long!
Opportunities range from chaperoning, food and drink donations, prop building, football games, and hosting large Winter Guard competitions in the spring. There are many opportunities to get involved and support the amazing music program!
